Pre-Fall 2014: The Row

If you’ve ever wondered why I have an enduring love for all things The Row, look no further than the 2014 pre-fall collection. What a brilliant decision to use “mature” models (including the always-fabulous Linda Rodin), and to great effect: no mutton-dressed-as-lamb here. Instead, proof of The Row’s ageless utilitarian luxe® appeal. I can’t wait […]

Pre-Fall 2014: Lanvin

Lanvin does luxe details so well. Even the simplest looks scream sophistication (as if sophistication would ever scream). See the complete pre-fall collection at Style.com. image credits: photos courtesy of lanvin for style.com

Pre-Fall 2014: Christopher Kane

I’m so taken with the first three looks in Christopher Kane’s pre-fall collection. The banding detail, inspired by a boa constrictor, proved versatile as the effect ranged from severe (look 1) to almost demure (look 3). Clever. Pre-fall 2014: Vera Wang

Vera Wang’s pre-fall collection seems a welcome return to the utilitarian luxe design aesthetic that won me over: simple lines paired with glamorous details. (Though I must confess I don’t understand the heavy scarves paired with open-toed shoes.) See the complete collection at Style.com. image credits: photos courtesy of vera wang for style.com

Pre-Fall 2014: A.L.C.

Crisp, modern minimalism from A.L.C. for pre-fall.  A relaxed take on the uniform (but not too relaxed), which suits my style to a tee.
