We spent a nice family day in Chicago yesterday. Started the afternoon at the newly re-opened Chicago History Museum. I went especially for the Christian Dior exhibit, Dior: A New Look, which was definitely worth the trip. Most of Dior’s evening gowns would work today – the afternoon dresses? Probably not. The rest of the museum was full of info – watched television coverage of the ’68 Democratic National Convention, learned about the World’s Fair, went to the Blues/Jazz room, walked through an old streetcar. After we had our history fill, went out into the neighborhood to check out Greer’s new location. Lots and lots of cute stationery! Will have to go back. Finished off the day with take out from R.J. Grunt’s. Soooo good – we devoured every last drop. Ah, a perfect day in the city.
