Ring-tone (and other) cell etiquette?

In today’s Chicago Tribune, Eric Zorn’s column deals with ring-tones.  His premise?  Your ring-tone, while incredibly meaningful and hip to you, is so not to everyone else who has to listen to it.  What do you think?  I’m inclined to agree with him.   I do laugh (to myself, of course) at the hip-hop ring-tones of people over the age of, oh, let’s say 19? (My ring-tone? Continental, courtesy of Cingular) But ring-tones are the least of my problems when it come to cell phones.  My personal irritant is cell phone users who believe that, cell phone in hand, any public place becomes their personal office space.  I cannot believe the topics that are discussed (and loudly – because hey, can you hear me now).  Health problems?  Sex life?  How incredibly awesome you are, despite your being sooooo drunk last night? Tell me more!  I am now officially old – have a great day …..
