The September issue of Travel & Leisure has a nice article titled Easy Fall Weekend Getaways. The closest for me is Stillwater, Minnesota. I would love to visit the Lowell Inn for a meal, or high tea. And funny thing is, when I mentioned the article to my parents (native Minnesotans) I learned that it was a favorite spot of my grandmother’s, which only makes me more determined to get there. I would love to see the world through her eyes for a couple of hours. (And raise a glass in her honor.)
I also wouldn’t mind visiting Lake Placid (oh the scenery!) and Block Island (quaint and charming), the other spots in the article.
As for me today? Hopefully, the bee killers will arrive and do their job. Sorry, but I have no love for bees when they’re finding a way into my house. To be clear, these are not honey bees …. they’re yucky bees. I want them gone. Yesterday.

I’ve been to high tea once and it was so lovely and a real treat. This Inn looks like a perfect place to have it!

you would love Lake Placid! It’s a haul to get there though! Lots and lots of windy mountain roads!
