This is quickly turning into the week about food. But I’ll start with something healthy. While we were grocery shopping this weekend, I saw the first Satsumas of the year displayed. I scooped some up, and took a picture this morning of my last one (quickly, because I wanted to eat it). They were sweet, juicy, and gorgeous. I have to go back for some more asap. You can learn more about my favorite orange at Wikipedia.
Now, on to the less healthy. Here’s another reason I’d like to live in a city. If I were living in New York, I could be getting dessert from the Dessert Truck tonight. Founded by Jerome Chang (a former Le Cirque sous pastry chef) and Chris Chen, the Dessert Truck, sells some pretty awesome sounding desserts. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday, starting at 6pm, and the price is right: $5, including tax! How smart is that? Now, would I order the Creme Brulee, or the Chocolate Bread Pudding? Who am I kidding? I would work my way through the menu. (downloads as a pdf) As it is, only 6 months or so until the ice cream man returns to the suburbs. Not the same.
See you tomorrow!
Tivo alert: The greatest Christmas show of all, A Charlie Brown Christmas, airs tonight at 8/7c on abc. Watch it for the music, watch it for Linus’ eloquent explanation of what Christmas is all about, just watch it.
