Week Thirty-eight: When Objects Work

I recently spent a day walking Maison et Objet, and a favorite find was Belgian company When Objects Work. Director/founder Beatrice de Lafontaine collaborates with well-known architects and designers to develop home accessories that are simple and beautiful, but also functional. Among my favorites are John Pawson’s tableware and Vincent Van Duysen’s wooden bowl (both shown here).

The When Objects Work booth was an oasis of calm in the midst of trade-show-crazy: so glad I found it + their products. The epitome of utilitarian luxe.
