Make Good Books

make good books, japanese craft books in english | simple pretty

This could be the best new book series idea I’ve seen in a long time. Make Good Books has translated Japanese craft books into English (and you know how I feel about Japanese crafts). I received the two titles above in August for review, and they’re stunning both in production and content. I’m hoping to make the slippers from the cover of Felting for Baby, as well as a really pretty notebook cover. (And you don’t need a baby to need a felted notebook cover!) Both books will be available for purchase Tuesday, October 13, but you can preview them (as well as download a few craft projects from the Make Good series) at their website. (And as of this writing, the site says the titles will ship in 24-48 hours. Yay for early!)

I’d like to offer my preview copy of Carefree Clothes for Girls, featuring designs for girls ages four to seven, as a giveaway. (Full disclosure: while I received the books from Make Good, I’m paying to mail the winner his/her copy.) If you’re interested, please leave a comment (one per person and no anonymous, please) at this post before Monday, October 12 at 11:59 pm cdt. I’ll draw one winner and will contact him/her at the email address provided for shipping instructions. I really hope this series catches on and there are more titles in the future. Fantabulous idea.

Make Good Books also has a flickr stream with more photos from their titles.
