Happy Monday! The view above is from my bedroom window, taken sometime on Saturday morning. Pretty, isn’t it? I was a little worried that it would cause traffic jams and keep me from the studio sale, but worry not! We made it into the city without incident (after a quick stop at the new LLBean store – seems odd to shop at LLBean and not be in Freeport) and went straight to Bari Zaki’s studio sale. I enjoyed looking at this year’s offerings so elegantly presented and wrapped, and selected a couple of small presents that will be going in the mail shortly. Plus, Bari had some origami treasures to show our 11-year-old. He studied the turtle she gave him for a good hour after we left. I’ll get a photo up soon.
Then, as we had time before our dinner reservation, we stopped in Southport Grocery for a sugar fix, as well as quick stops at Twosided and Molly’s Cupcakes. Yes, that makes two cupcake stops within an hour, but I’d never been to Molly’s and just had to check it out. It was darling, and so it merited a mini cupcake purchase (and a cookie. I cannot lie.) I’ll have to go back when it’s not a slushy mess out and I can linger …

With a little more time before dinner, we drove down Michigan Avenue to see the lights (and the crowds). Then, on to Scoozi! for a holiday dinner in the city. Relaxing and fun and becoming a tradition. I love that.
How was your weekend?
