Here we go! Today is demolition of the current kitchen, running concurrent with delivery of new cabinets. I think both parties are arriving at 9:30 am. (It figures, right?) The new cabinets are going into the garage for a bit while we clear out the space, and relocate the refrigerator, microwave and most important, coffee maker. After stepping over boxes on Tuesday to get at the treadmill, I am soooo ready to get this going. Pictures to follow. Maybe one a week?

Last Thursday, while I was at Barnes & Noble picking up new magazines, this book jumped out at me from a shelf in the children’s section. Loved the cover (pictured above), and so I noted the artist and went home to Google. I’m glad I did, because not only is Diana Sudyka a fellow Chicagoan, but she has a delightful blog, full of bird art and info, and etsy shop. I’m smitten with her bird paintings (like this one), but this screenprint is great, too. Then, click over to her website. Love the bird on the homepage! Be sure to take some time and click through it all, including the “about” page. It would be great to walk through the Field Museum’s North American Birds exhibit with her as my guide! I’d learn so much. When the construction fog clears, and I’m back to decorating, I’m hoping to add one of her paintings to my staircase wall.
See you, temporarily kitchenless, tomorrow.
