Getting ready

Other than the freaking about flying, I am looking forward to visiting Boston and Nantucket. So far, the docket includes a Red Sox game, breakfast at the Buttery, lobster rolls early and often, Whale’s Tail Pale Ale, as well as the usual walking around (and a stroll through one of the Winston Flowers shops for sure ….). Because Boston is all about walking, and I love that. I do need some help, though – Williams-Sonoma’s latest catalog has a recipe for frozen lemonade. Supposedly, it’s a popular summer tradition in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Any ideas on where I could find the best frozen lemonade in Boston? If you do, post a comment …. and thank you!Switching gears, if you’re looking for some beautiful arts and crafts, where the proceeds are going to a great cause, I suggest you check out One in Ten. There are lots and lots of items to choose from, which will be auctioned August 19-24. One in Ten will help cover the medical bills for Eireann’s mother, who suffered a cerebral aneurysm in June. (Only one in ten people survive in similar circumstances: Eireann’s mother is expected to fully recover in a year.) The list of contributors is long, and there is something for everyone. Currently, my favorite is Stephanie Sykes’ embroidered alphabet on felt. Gorgeous! Check back for more details (and perhaps more choices?) as the 19th approaches.

One final request: humor my emerging crush on Matt Damon by watching him and Jimmy Kimmel spoof the Bourne Ultimatum at youtube. It’s good ….

I know this is late but the best frozen lemonade in RI is at Dels. Not at this time of year but in the summer, good stuff!
