When laziness takes over

Throw a holiday Monday into my week, and I get out of sorts. What day is it? Sorry, drycleaning delivery guy – my dog was in the yard because I forgot yesterday was Wednesday! It’s Thursday already? One week of school left? Can’t be. I’ve got to get back into the “making lunch” groove. I am one of those lucky moms whose son loves to eat hot lunch every day …. plus he can’t get enough of the pb and j. Which leaves me free to pick up (or make) a sandwich, eat leftovers, choose to have a cookie for lunch, whatever. Tomorrow, his third-grade class has a field trip (downtown Chicago – we’re taking a boat tour – and I say we because I am chaperoning). Which means I have to figure out two lunches for tomorrow. Any great ideas? The lazy in me is all set to drive down to my favorite bakery/cafe and pick up a couple of boxed lunches that can endure an hour-long bus ride. That’s the quick fix ….. reality sets in next Thursday. When I’m not obsessing over what to eat, I’m trying to drink more water during the day, and tap water whenever possible. Discovered a great water flavoring yesterday courtesy of my Pilates studio: ginger slices and blueberries in a pitcher of ice water. It was lovely, and tasty, and definitely something I’m going to try at home!

And lastly, this morning I learned that for $250, you can buy a ticket to see Prince live at the Minneapolis Macy’s (which really should be Dayton’s, but that’s another story) on July 7. Plus, it allows you to see him in concert that night at the Target center plus it gets you two special-edition bottles of his new perfume, 3121. (okay, that is the least appealing part of the deal, but it is included) The catch? Tickets go on sale at the Macy’s cosmetics counter tomorrow at 10am. I will be on a bus! in Chicago! And it sounds like so much fun ….
