Because I read far too many shelter magazines, I am constantly devising plans to “improve” my house. Around 18 months ago, I decided that what the back of the house needed was a pergola, with lights so that you could linger outside on a warm evening. Well, ta da! It’s finally complete: built (last winter), painted (last summer), and lit (last night!). And can I just add that finding lights is no easy task? No matter. It’s ready to go. Right now, it looks holiday festive; in the spring, it will be ready to light the first margaritas of the outdoor season. Cross one item off the to-do list ….
