Soutache

Lest you think I am two-dimensional, only obsessed with magazines and stationery, let me assure you that you are wrong.  I am also obsessed with ribbons.  It’s especially bad at Christmas.  I get white wrapping paper and then go nuts with ribbons!  If you also suffer from ribbon envy, you should visit Soutache in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood.  It features a whole wall dedicated to all sorts of ribbons (plus there were buttons, and feathers and other sorts of trim – but I had limited time and stayed focused!).  The cash/wrap area had all sorts of examples of the craftiness that could ensue from purchasing some trim (including some cute skirts), and Soutache plans to offer classes in the future.  As for me, I escaped with three yards of orange grosgrain ribbon this trip, but I’ll be back.
